Life is full of opportunities for growth: from expanding our businesses and opening our minds to nurturing our bodies, healing our hearts and embracing the world around us.
Growth is not always easy. In fact, I know it can be downright painful...hence growing pains. Over the past few months, I have had to navigate business and life and how I could continue to grow after the loss of our daughter, London. It has been challenging to say the least. But as my other two kids continue to grow into amazing human beings, I remain flexible and open to the possibility for growing in ways I didn't even know I needed before.
Growth is an innate human desire to improve and reach our full potential. As entrepreneurs and business leaders, we understand the importance of growth not only for our individual success but also for the prosperity of our companies and the communities we serve.

There is so much I could say here, but all the words don't feel like enough. London Grace, you were a gift to us all. You had the wisdom of an 80-year-old and the playfulness of a 9-year-old. You cared so much about this world and how to make it a better place. You were kind, loving and caring, but you also spoke out about the things that mattered to you. You were not only my daughter, but also one of my best friends. We told each other everything. I miss holding your hand at night and giggling when you were supposed to be asleep and getting in trouble by Daddy. I miss our deep talks about the meaning of life and how we couldn't make sense of it all.
You inspired me so much and continue to inspire me every day. I dedicate this magazine to you, L. I wish I could see the accomplished entrepreneur and overall human I knew you were going to be. I know you didn't get to launch your business like we always talked about, but I want to make sure that everyone in this world gets to see how at only 15, you were thinking about how you could make this world a better place. I love and miss you so much...we all do.

a note from heather
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen we have recently started growing plants from seeds as a family. We are growing pumpkins, cucumbers, squash, flowers, herbs, corn and more. It has been therapeutic for me and a fun activity for my kids to go check them out everyday.
Getting my hands dirty, planting the seeds and watching them grow has become my favorite thing to do every day in our craft room downstairs. But they don't grow without water, light and nurturing them. The same goes for your business and you as a person. In order for growth to occur, we have to focus on and take care of the things you want to grow. And just like the seeds, you cannot grow fully overnight. Instead let's commit to growing intentionally in ways that enhance who we are already, help us become better humans and allow us to join in as a collective to make this world a better place. Thank you for being here for this first issue. I can't wait to see how all of this grows.
